The DC-area Jalops were out in force this weekend at Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, VA. It was great to meet a lot of the people who've only been names on a forum to me until now; there was something unmistakeably Jalop about every person I met.
A couple of us have already posted pictures from the event. You can see our excellent photographer David's photos !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has posted his pictures !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I won't flood the page with every photo I took on Saturday, but here is a sampling:

I arrived early and parked next to a gray FF, which didn't stick around too long.
First time I've ever seen a Morgan Aero 8!
The Countach. It's so... eighties .
The Amphicar! It's a car and a boat, but isn't particularly great at being either.
There were not one, but two first-gen M5s.
The 1929 Bentley Speed Six was arguably the star of the show.
1967 Alvis TF21. I'd never heard of this car, so I learned something new.

Nice, I didn't get there until a little after 7am so I missed a few of those. Good stuff!

I am super sad I missed this event, as I was actually in the district this weekend. I'll probably be moving here permanently at the end of the year. Any way I can stay in the loop on future DC Jalop events or should I just check Oppo regularly?

I'd say definitely check Oppo, or email Nick at nickdezarn@hotmail.com. He arranged the meet, and can probably add you to the email list for any future get-togethers.

Top Gear puts these before the guys. I'm talking about the girl in the red shirt.

Good thing I didn't show up with my Mister Donut shirt. That would have been embarrassing.
Anybody know what the kanji says? Really hoping it doesn't translate to "Dumb Ass Round Eye."

What's the law concerning driving barefoot driving in Virginia? I really enjoy it from time to time. And it's definitely safer than driving in flip-flops!

That is one unfortunate case of Kinja going on there.

I was there, but couldn't find anyone. I think I saw the Jeep SRT8 at some point, but no one was around...I'll have to stay longer next time.
So many gorgeous cars...I'll definitely be back.

Ah, I see you already found a helpful link. In short, it's legal in all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. Though a couple of states do have laws that apply strictly to motorcycles.
There's a long-standing (and erroneous) belief among that it's somehow illegal, but worry not, my barefoot buddy.

I'm usually easy to spot, despite my short stature. We closed the place down; we were there from 7:00 to 10:30, when the very last cars left. Hope yo see you next time!

Awesome! I was in a bit of a rush this past time - I'll be sure to get there early next time so I can meet everybody, though.
Any idea on when the next one will be? I'm close enough to Maryland that I'd go there as well, probably.

I don't know when the next one will be, but I'd reach out to Nick (nickdezarn@hotmail.com) who organized this one. See if he's planning anything in the future.
